Following an exceptionally successful 5 week programme; ‘Leading Remotely with Wellbeing in Mind’, where over 30 HR and Leadership professionals joined together, learned new skills and supported each other, we wanted to go further to explain to you who we are and what we aim to achieve with ‘People & Leadership’ Networking and Events.
In the early stages of COVID-19, a group of likeminded professionals and friends were discussing how the pandemic was impacting HR teams and whether we could bring value to the HR community in these troubled times. These discussions led to the creation of several online events such as ‘Effective Internal Communications’ and ‘How to Support your Employees with Mental Health’. We gained such positive feedback from these sessions that we continued to develop a 5 week programme on ‘Leading Remotely with Wellbeing in Mind’ written and delivered by Sharon MacArthur. Although the initial aim of the group was to provide valuable webinars with tangible take away material, we soon saw the opportunity to expand this further and allow attendees to become part of a larger network that can continue to support each other through COVID19 and beyond. Over 30 HR and Leadership professionals joined together to create a safe way to communicate openly about their current challenges and successes in order to help others in the same profession. We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved to date and look forward to providing more topical discussions in the near future.
People and Leadership is run by a group of industry professionals who together bring a range of experience and expert knowledge to the network.

Lynn Bennett FIRP – Director, Lynn Bennett Resourcing
Lynn began her own HR recruitment business in 2014 after building a successful career as an HR practitioner and HR recruiter spanning 24 years! With a consultative approach Lynn will ensure a personal, effective and highly successful outcome with every client she works with. Lynn understands the pivotal importance that Human Resources has in shaping an organisations effectiveness and performance, and indeed how recruitment and selection has become ever more important as organisations look to their workforce as a source of competitive advantage.
Sharon McArthur – Owner, Red Handbag
Sharon is a passionate coach and experienced leader who delights in unlocking potential in others to become more accountable. With a focus on helping organisations develop their leaders and management processes to ensure they are fit for future growth, Sharon works with you and your leadership team to ensure they have the right tools to become great leaders. Sharon is also a passionate advocate of Women in Business and enjoys working with female professionals to ensure they have the confidence to reach the top of their profession. Sharon also works as a menopause educator. Helping businesses to navigate and understand how best to support women working through menopause. Ignorance can no longer be an excuse. Lyn Carruthers – Director, Culture Vine Ltd
Lyn has over 15 years’ experience working within Communications and Engagement within both large plc’s and SME’s in the North East giving her a wealth of knowledge in the field of business culture and organisation development. In January 2020, Lyn created her own business with the aim to deliver Organisation Development solutions to all businesses, regardless of size, industry, or budget. Lyn is a fully qualified Executive Leadership Coach, with specialism in Employee Engagement, Internal Communications and Organisation Development and can help to unpick the most complex of challenges.
