What does a recruiter do?
A recruiter works on behalf of an employer to find the most suitable candidate for a given vacancy. It is their job to attract, source, screen and present a short list of individuals with the right knowledge, skills and experience to the employer.Â
Recruiters may work within an company's human resources department (typically) or on an outsourced basis, as an independent consultant. External or outsourced recruiters often specialise in certain industries giving them in-depth knowledge of what makes an ideal candidate.
